French Pub Style Dining Room Set

This is my last post for today and I'm all updated :)
We bought this dining set about 3 years ago, meaning to refinish one day...
It was a huge set with 7 chairs so instead of keeping it in the garage,
we brought it in our dining room( we didn't have our own either)
and started using it and 3 years already have passed!
This dining set wasn't in my plan to do any time soon.
My husband said he wanted to help me with my furniture refinishing.
You know, when I'm on my own I like to take it easy so
if I finish one small project in a week,I'm happy.
But he likes to work hard, do as much as he can during the day.
( he even skips lunch to get the job done!)
The other day he asked me if I needed his help to do this dining set.
I said " I don't feel like working on it right now".
He said " Do you want me to spray paint it?"
I thought about it....If I'm painting, it'll be hand painting.
( Spray painting is not my thing....)
If he spray paints, it'll be done much quicker......maybe....simply in black.
Yeah, let him do it then I don't need to! lol
So he started spray painting the set.
He's got an air compressor, a spray gun( but his didn't quite work so he bought a new one)
and everything he needs and knows what to do.( he's a super handy man!)
He also sanded the table top so we could stain.
Then we brought them inside, stained, applied polyurethane and waxed the table top
and hand waxed everything else.
For the chairs, we reupholstered them with durable cute French script fabric.
He also installed an LED light inside the hutch.
Here are the completed project!!

(sorry no before pictures)

Man it's sooooooo hard to take good pictures!

I did a little stencilling for French taste :)

It was so much fun working with my hubby!!
I wish we can work on many more projects together :)

Have a great weekend!!

Pink Hexagon Accent Table

And here's my 3rd post in a day!
I'm doing all the catching up right now and hopefully I'll have some time to
visit blog friends and see what wonderful creative things they're doing :)
They are such an inspiration for me, so many talented people out there!
The other day, I got this side table.
It was very pretty hexagon shape and I liked the ornate design.
I lightly sanded and painted it in ASCP Antoinette & Old White.
Then I distressed it to enhance the details and to give it an old charm.
It's a hexagon table so I had 6 panels to paint!
I also painted inside white and here how she turned out.
I did stencilling on lower panels.
I have one more post to do, thank you for stopping by!

French Provincial Dining set with Mirror

Hello again :)
This is my 2nd post today, 2posts in one day is a record for me! lol
This one is about my French Provincial Dining Set I've just finished.
A friend of mine decided to go back to her native country Japan ( and I'm from there too) to raise her  2 beautiful daughters with her husband last August and she held a garage sale.
I went there and spotted this table and 4 chair set and liked it right away.
It's always sad that your friends move far away,
I hope they're doing great and happy in Japan!!
Ok,here're the *befores*
After I wished her & family a good luck,my husband &I went for furniture shopping,
like I don't already have way enough
Then spotted this buffet & hutch.
( Hutch is behind the table in the above picture)
They went well together, both in French Provincial style,
so I decided to refinish them as a set.

I painted them in bluish grey custom color and enhanced the details with white.
Distressed a little and hand waxed everything.
For the chairs, I chose dark French scripted fabric.
It's for upholstery and very durable.
aw....I didn't take any photos (again) so I can't show you but
removing old fabric and staples from chairs are a lot of work!
I did that and stapled the new fabric to the chairs.
And here's the finished project :)
What do you think???
I love how the chairs turned out.
I added some pretty designs around the apron, legs and the top of the table.
The buffet & hutch
Inside the drawers are lined with quality wall paper
Then I decided to do a mirror for this set.
Done in the same color and a bit of silver.
The black chair is for another dining set.
Take care everyone!
Thank you for stopping by :)

Shabby Chic Duck Egg Blue Desk & Chair

I’m getting so behind in this blog world,
these days I can’t seem to find the time to write a post
or visit other blog friends and write a comment.
I don’t know how other people do it, taking care of a family, kids, house,
refinish furniture and roam in the blog world? It seems impossible for me to do that!!!
If you have a secret how to do it all, please do tell me!!  :)
Anyways, a while ago I finished this lovely desk and a chair.
Both were love at first sight for me.
You know when you see something you really like and even before
you check the price tag, you already know you’ll get it? These were one of those.
Those *vintage* lines make me swoon!
*Before pic of the desk*
I decided to paint them in ASCP Duck Egg Blue.
Don’t you just love this color?
It lookslike blue,it looks like green,it’s beautiful!
I lightly sanded both and painted in Duck Egg.
Added some French images and distressed them and clear waxed both.
From here,I just show you some pictures, no more talking......

Thanks for stopping by!
